In the indictment prepared regarding the match between Ankaraspor and Nazilli Belediyespor, in which not a single shot was taken, the 0-0 negotiation between the club presidents was revealed through HTS records; a lawsuit was filed against 52 suspects on charges of match-fixing.
A critical stage has been reached in the investigation regarding the Ankaraspor–Nazilli Belediyespor match, in which not a single shot was taken. It has been revealed in the initial indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office that the negotiations made by the presidents of the two clubs before the match were documented by HTS records.
INDICTMENT FROM THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE ON MATCH-FIXING IN FOOTBALL
The indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office within the scope of the investigation into "betting and match-fixing in football" detailed the Ankaraspor–Nazilli Belediyespor match played on April 28, 2024, which ended in a 0-0 draw. The fact that not a single shot was taken during the match drew attention, and as a result of this score, Zonguldak Kömürspor, which was relegated, was included in the file as a "victim of the crime."
52 SUSPECTS INCLUDED IN THE FILE
The indictment lists Ankaraspor and Nazilli Belediyespor as "financially responsible," and includes a total of 52 suspects, 5 of whom are detained, including Ankaraspor Club Owner Ahmet Okatan, Club President Mehmet Emin Katipoğlu, Technical Responsible Volkan Erten, Nazilli Belediyespor President Şahin Kaya, and Coach Gürhan Sönmez.
REQUESTED PRISON SENTENCES
According to a report by Sabah, the prosecutor's office requested prison sentences ranging from 1.5 to 4.5 years for Şahin Kaya and Mehmet Emin Katipoğlu for the crime of "match-fixing." For the other suspects, prison sentences of 1 to 3 years and judicial fines of up to 20,000 days were requested.
AGREEMENT ON THE 0-0 SCORE
According to the information in the indictment, it was stated that the managers of Ankaraspor and Nazilli Belediyespor communicated before the match and agreed on the match ending in a 0-0 draw. With this result, Nazilli Belediyespor remained in the league, while Zonguldak Kömürspor was relegated.
HTS RECORDS REVEALED
HTS records included in the file revealed that Nazilli Belediyespor President Şahin Kaya told Ankaraspor President Mehmet Emin Katipoğlu, "Zonguldak is going to send a bribe to Ankaraspor, so we need to talk as soon as possible, uncle." After the match, it was determined that the suspect Hasan Güney sent a message to Katipoğlu saying "Congratulations."
