Fenerbahçe Presidential Candidate Aziz Yıldırım announced that he will withdraw his candidacy if the yellow and navy team finishes the season as champions.
The former president of Fenerbahçe, Aziz Yıldırım, who has also announced his candidacy for the upcoming election, made controversial statements. "I will withdraw my candidacy if Fenerbahçe becomes the champion," said Yıldırım, speaking about the future of the team. "We have lost our superiority against Galatasaray in recent times. We went and won, it was good. All the children went to school with their jerseys. We experienced that happiness together. We always beat Galatasaray. If Fenerbahçe becomes the champion, if we win the championship, I will withdraw my candidacy," he said.
Yıldırım also made statements about Jose Mourinho, saying, "Beşiktaş claims that they have agreed with Jose Mourinho for 7 million euros. I will give them 5 more, let them agree for 12. They are lying. They are trying to do the bidding of some people. It is not appropriate for Beşiktaş. They are doing it wrong. I can say a lot, but it would be disrespectful. I will say it to Mr. Hasan Arat. They should give up on these kinds of things. If he is coming for 7 million euros, we will withdraw. They should stop these things. Beşiktaş does not have such power. It is shameful, they should not make me speak more. We should respect each other. Jose Mourinho said, 'When I came to Istanbul for a commercial shoot, two people from Beşiktaş came to the hotel. We had a conversation with them.' He said, 'We did not have such a meeting.' That's the issue," he said.
