In Kahramanmaraş, an individual intervened by pushing his father-in-law, who was pointing a gun at him, away with his feet through the car window. The individual stated that his father-in-law pulled the trigger, but the gun jammed. He then attempted to jump on his father-in-law to take the gun away. The man's wife mentioned that her father wanted to sell their house and demanded the money, and she claimed that he had also threatened her.

In the Cumhuriyet neighborhood of Kahramanmaraş, Ufuk B pointed a shotgun at his son-in-law Gökhan Kalkan in the car. According to allegations, Ufuk B pulled the trigger, but the gun jammed. At that moment, Gökhan Kalkan jumped out of the vehicle and tried to tackle his father-in-law to take the gun away. The incident was recorded by a nearby person on a mobile phone.

"HE PULLED THE TRIGGER BUT THE GUN DID NOT FIRE"

After the incident, Gökhan Kalkan and his wife Özge Kalkan went to the police station to file a complaint. In his statement, Gökhan Kalkan said that his father-in-law threatened him and hit him on the chin with the gun, stating, "During this time, he pulled the trigger several times, but the gun did not fire. To protect myself, I pushed Ufuk B with my feet. Ufuk B moved a little away from the vehicle and reloaded, and I got out of the car and hugged him without firing."

THE DAUGHTER ALSO FILED A COMPLAINT

Özge Kalkan also stated that she filed a complaint against her father. Claiming that her father threatened her as well, Özge Kalkan said, "My father wants to sell the houses he has over me and take the money, even though he has no right. On the day of the incident, he came to my house and said, 'What did you do about the house work? You will give me the title deed of the house.' When I said, 'Dad, we are not convinced about that,' he replied, 'You will see how you will give it.' I said I would file a complaint, and he said, 'Nothing will happen to me, what will the police do to me?' At that time, my husband was not at home, and I explained it to him. When my husband came home, he encountered my father, who pointed a shotgun at him. When I heard about this incident, I saw my father on my way home, and he said to me, 'You will give everything. You will see what I will do to you.' I am afraid that my father has a gun; he can harm me.

"DO WE NEED TO DIE FOR HIS ARREST?"

After the incident, Ufuk B was detained by the police and was released by the court with a judicial control decision when he was brought to the courthouse. Gökhan Kalkan, who reacted to his father-in-law's release, stated that both he and his wife are teachers and that they had to leave Kahramanmaraş because they do not feel safe. Kalkan said, "He wants to take our belongings, and we are opposing this. Finally, this incident happened, and he pulled the trigger several times, but the gun did not fire because it jammed. The man has 18 records, but he is released with judicial control. Since we do not feel safe, we had to leave Kahramanmaraş. Do we need to die for my father-in-law to be arrested?"
