In the Republican People's Party (CHP), a striking piece of insider information about the ongoing process has come to light. According to a report by Mahir Kılıç from Habertürk, preparations are reportedly underway for a new party to be established under the leadership of Özgür Özel.
JULY 11 DATE ON THE AGENDA
According to the report, sources close to Özgür Özel stated that the 45-day period granted for the extraordinary congress will expire on July 26, and that, per the party charter, the decision for the congress must be announced by July 11 at the latest. They indicated that they have decided to wait until this date.
Meanwhile, it was noted that expectations persist that the Court of Cassation will make a decision and finalize the legal process before the judicial recess starting on July 20.
ALLEGED CONTACTS WITH PARTIES ELIGIBLE TO ENTER ELECTIONS
The report conveyed that, in the event of a possible snap election, the option of transferring to a party eligible to enter elections is also being considered. Within this context, it was alleged that Özgür Özel's aides have established contact with the Anatolia Unity Party and the Innovation Party, led by former CHP MP Öztürk Yılmaz.
'NEW PARTY' NAME STANDS OUT
