As part of two separate investigations conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding terrorism and organized crimes against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), 79 suspects, including IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu, Beylikdüzü Mayor Murat Çalık, Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, and singer Ercan Saatçi, were detained.

"TURKISH JUDICIARY IS INDEPENDENT, IMPARTIAL, AND OBJECTIVE"
Bahçeli, stating that "No one is untouchable. The IMM President must respect the decision of the law," continued his remarks as follows; "The Republic of Turkey is a national, unitary, democratic, and social state governed by the rule of law. The peace of individuals and society is an indispensable value. National solidarity and the measures of justice are the determining factors of every action and intervention. Legally, humanely, and on the basis of belief, every person is equal. Regardless of their duty, position, or rank, everyone has equal rights and obligations within the framework of norms. No one can be subjected to discrimination or division, nor can they possess ideological, political, and economic superiority or privileged advantages. The Turkish judiciary is independent, impartial, and objective.
Ignoring, leaving unresolved, or sometimes burying actions and deeds that are legally considered crimes and require prosecution and punishment will deeply wound the public conscience and undermine the state's interests and the legal security of the nation.
"NO ONE IS UNTOUCHABLE"
Opposing justice and law, or at least opening it to debate, is an invitation to disorder and violence. It should be a shared responsibility to respond to the judicial action taken against the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality with patience and common sense, and to approach every decision made by the law with respect. Discrediting a legal measure by calling it a coup is a political corruption that has lost its sanity and moral level, preparing to take the quest for rights to the streets. No one is untouchable, unreachable, inaccessible, or unaccountable. To conflate law with democracy, justice with the ballot box, and national will with the foundation of property, or to resort to fifth column activities to create conflict, is an invitation to widespread violence, a picture of intense instability, and destructive crises.
"TERRORISM IS ALSO A SYSTEMATIC VIOLENCE"
I have complete confidence in the Turkish judiciary. Until proven guilty by the court, the presumption of innocence is fundamental. In these days when Turkey is gradually moving towards a century free of violence, complaints, and terrorism, it is historically important for us to pay maximum attention to internal and external forces that attempt to disturb our order and stability, and to remain constantly vigilant. Violence is the disregard for human dignity and the trampling of human values. Terrorism is also a systematic violence. A Turkey without terrorism is also a Turkey without violence. Preventing violence at both individual and societal levels has long been a sensitive and important topic that we have shown sensitivity towards. Thanks to the unique contributions and efforts of our esteemed professors, valuable experts, and thinkers who have enlivened our commission by dedicating their time, a significant work has emerged under the instruction I gave to our Deputy Chairman responsible for Research-Strategy Development of the Nationalist Movement Party.
