Ankara Police Department has raised security measures to the highest level across the city ahead of the NATO Leaders' Summit. In operations carried out for approximately three months, over 1.5 million people and nearly 930,000 vehicles were checked, while more than 4,000 wanted suspects were apprehended.
Ankara Police Department teams conducted comprehensive security operations across the province between April 4 and July 1 to ensure the NATO Leaders' Summit, scheduled for July 7-8, takes place in a safe and peaceful environment. Within the scope of the operations, over 1.5 million people and nearly 930,000 vehicles were checked.
4,000 PEOPLE CAUGHT
Teams inspected public spaces, accommodation facilities, cafes and restaurants, entertainment venues, car rental companies, parking lots, daily rental places, and other public business premises. In the operations carried out at many points in the city, more than 4,000 wanted suspects were caught.
CHIEF OF POLICE YÜKSEK JOINED THE INSPECTIONS
Ankara Chief of Police Maksut Yüksek also participated in the security operations carried out for the NATO Leaders' Summit and conducted inspections. Yüksek visited the operation points, examined the work on-site, and met with the personnel on duty. Chatting with citizens, Yüksek thanked them for their support and cooperation in the security measures.
