Experts warned citizens about title frauds involving fake power of attorney and identity theft; they stated that the "Transaction Cannot Be Made Declaration Establishment" service on e-Government allows properties to be locked, preventing unauthorized sales and mortgage transactions.

In recent years, the rapid increase in digital fraud methods has created new risks, especially for property owners. Experts warn citizens that properties can be attempted to be sold without permission through methods such as the issuance of fake power of attorney and the theft of identity information.

CRITICAL STEP IN E-GOVERNMENT

According to experts, one of the most effective measures against such attempts is to activate the "Transaction Cannot Be Made Declaration Establishment" service offered through e-Government. With this application, no transaction can be made on the property without the owner's approval.

When the system provided by the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre is activated, many transactions that can be made on the property are automatically blocked. Thus, sales and transfer transactions are halted, mortgages cannot be placed on the property, and actions that could be taken with fake power of attorney are prevented.

LOCKING PROPERTIES IS ESSENTIAL

Experts state that recent attempts to sell properties with fake power of attorney and leaks of identity information pose a serious risk. It is expressed that citizens can provide strong protection against such fraud attempts by locking their properties through e-Government.

HOW TO LOCK LAND REGISTRY FROM E-GOVERNMENT?

After citizens log into the e-Government system with their identity number and passwords, they can access the relevant service by typing "General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre" in the search section. Then, by selecting the property through the "Transaction Cannot Be Made Declaration Establishment" option, the "Establish Declaration" button is activated.

Once this process is completed, when any transaction is attempted on the property, the system automatically requires the owner's personal approval.

Experts emphasize that this process, which takes only a few minutes, is one of the most effective methods to secure properties against fake transactions and fraudsters.
