As the war between the US-Israel and Iran continues with full force on its 17th day, the Tehran administration has made another significant move. Iranian Police Chief Ahmadreza Radan announced that 500 people have been arrested on the grounds that they were gathering information on behalf of Israel and the US and sharing images and location data related to attack points.

The war that began on February 28 between the US-Israel and Iran continues to escalate tensions in the Middle East, while the Iranian government has increased security measures domestically. The Tehran administration has launched extensive operations against alleged espionage activities carried out in the country during the war process.

Iranian Police Chief Ahmadreza Radan announced that 500 people have been arrested across the country on espionage charges. Radan stated that those detained were collecting information on behalf of Israel and the US, and particularly transferring images and location information regarding attack targets. The police chief did not share details about the dates on which the arrests were made.

"SPY AND MERCENARIES HAVE BEEN DEPLOYED"

The Tasnim News Agency, known for its proximity to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, published a statement from the intelligence unit of the Revolutionary Guards. The statement claimed that Israel and the US are conducting operations against Iran not only through military attacks but also by attempting to create internal turmoil in the country.

The statement included, "While the Zionist enemy (Israel) and the US are trying to invade Iran, they are also trying to incite uprisings in the next phase by deploying mercenaries and spies."

ARRESTS INCREASING

Iranian media reports that since the start of the war, many people have been detained in various regions of the country on similar charges. The Tasnim News Agency reported yesterday that 20 people in West Azerbaijan province were arrested on charges of sending information about military and security points to Israel.

Officials state that strict measures have also been taken against information leaks through social media and digital communication channels during the war process.

TENSION CONTINUES IN THE WAR

After the extensive attacks launched by the US and Israel on military targets in Iran, the conflict has entered its third week. Iran has responded to the attacks with missile and drone strikes on US bases and allied countries in the region, while also increasing security operations within the country.

Experts believe that the Iranian government may further expand espionage operations due to concerns that internal security threats could increase if the war prolongs.
