CHP's Ali Mahir Başarır stated that before the fight in the Parliament, all party group vice presidents were called to a meeting, and when they arrived, Justice Minister Akın Gürlek was also in the room. Başarır mentioned that he shook hands with Gürlek and said, "I told Gürlek, 'It will be a difficult day for you.'"

By the decision of the President, Akın Gürlek was appointed as the Minister of Justice, and Mustafa Çiftçi was appointed as the Minister of Interior. The two new ministers took their oath in the General Assembly of the Parliament.
