Galatasaray's request for a stay of execution regarding the ban on away matches against Liverpool has been rejected by CAS.
Galatasaray's application before the away match against Liverpool was unsuccessful. The yellow-red club's request for a stay of execution regarding the away fan ban was rejected by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
APPEAL AGAINST UEFA PENALTY
UEFA had imposed a ban on away fans for the yellow-red club due to the incidents that occurred during the second leg match played away against Juventus in the Champions League round of 16 playoff. Following this decision, the Galatasaray management applied to CAS, requesting a stay of execution of the penalty.
CAS DID NOT STAY EXECUTION
After evaluating the application, CAS rejected Galatasaray's request for a stay of execution. With this decision, the yellow-red club will be deprived of fan support in the Champions League round of 16 match to be played away against Liverpool.
THERE WILL BE NO FANS AT THE LIVERPOOL MATCH
After the decision, Galatasaray fans will not be able to follow the critical match away at Liverpool from the stands. The yellow-red team will take the field without fan support in the match to be played in England.
