Bilal Erdoğan, the son of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Chairman of the Ilim Yayma Foundation, reacted to the decision to make the swimming pool in a sports complex affiliated with Üsküdar Municipality mixed-gender, stating that it is "a good example of how far we are from reconciliation."

Bilal Erdoğan, son of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President of the Ilim Yayma Foundation, answered questions related to the agenda during a television program he attended.

"I DO NOT FORGIVE"

In one part of the program, in response to the question directed at him, "We are talking about a reckoning, facing up to things. Can we also say that I do not forgive?" Erdoğan replied, "Of course, I do not forgive. Forgiveness would be like this: The one who I might forgive needs to come out and say, 'We did this, but we were wrong.' That is non-existent. The people who we will not forgive or those who have experienced the oppression of headscarves have not even faced this; if the same person had the chance again, they would do the same thing."

"THEY HAVE MADE THE SWIMMING POOL MIXED, WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?"

Later, Erdoğan shared an example he found contrary to "forgiveness," saying, "Just today, I was in Üsküdar with my friends. The Üsküdar Municipality has changed a pool where women and men could enter at separate times to 'only one day can be separate, otherwise it can be mixed.' The name of the pool carries the name of the late theology professor Raşit Küçük. Why are you doing this? So many people benefit from this. It is a good example of how far we are from forgiveness."
