A new economic system based on joint investment is being implemented by HEKİMSEN to allow civil servants and healthcare workers to access basic needs such as housing and vehicles without interest or bank loans. The system, which aims to reduce costs through bulk purchases and treasury tenders, will be available to all civil servants.

With this structure planned by the Union of Physicians and Other Healthcare Workers Public Health and Social Services Union (HEKİMSEN), members will more easily access basic needs such as homes and vehicles, which they struggle to obtain with their individual incomes.

ALTERNATIVE FINANCE MODEL NOT DEPENDENT ON BANK LOANS

In this context, the aim is to create a joint investment model, make bulk fleet purchases, and implement various economic projects to reduce costs. Within the system, investments will be made through joint ventures in areas such as treasury lands and public tenders, and the resulting profits will be shared among members.

Furthermore, while this structure is designed as an alternative finance model not dependent on bank loans, it will thus offer more accessible economic opportunities without high interest and cost pressures. Expanding the structure into a larger economic organization under the confederation umbrella is also among the plans.

HEKİMSEN General President Specialist Dr. Adil Kurban announced that applications for this economic structure have started to be received and that there is intense demand.

"PEOPLE CANNOT OWN HOMES AND VEHICLES WITH THEIR SALARIES"

Elaborating on the issue, HEKİMSEN General President Specialist Dr. Adil Kurban said, "The salaries received by civil servants from the state have a limit. If you are not working under contract, you cannot obtain very large earnings from this. Even if you are under contract, you still cannot do it with just your salary. For example, I have colleagues who are eligible for retirement but cannot retire. The average lifespan of physicians in Turkey is around 60 years. Physicians scientifically die earlier than the general population. Many of our colleagues do not have a home, and if they have a car, it is second-hand and 10-15 years old. People cannot own homes and vehicles with their salaries. When you want to buy a house, if you buy it after construction is completed, you pay almost twice its cost. Even if you start with the land, you cannot buy it cheaply."

"WE WILL PARTNER WHEREVER THERE IS AN AREA FOR PROFIT"

Kurban reminded that they previously provided affordable vehicles to members by making fleet purchases through their motor vehicle company, and stated the following: "We provided vehicles to our members by making fleet purchases. We did this at very affordable prices and provided significant discounts. In this process, both the companies we collaborated with and our members benefited. In the upcoming period, we held a meeting about our economic structure. As of today, our economic structure is being established. In the future, we will enter treasury land tenders and carry out projects together with our members. We are also planning congress-centered hotel investments. In other words, wherever there is an area to generate profit, we, as the HEKİMSEN community, will be there and will partner."

"OUR MEMBERS WILL OWN HOMES AND VEHICLES WITHOUT USING BANK LOANS"

Pointing to the high profit and interest rates in bank loans, Kurban emphasized that they aim to produce solutions without indebting people. Kurban said, "There is currently serious demand for this structure. Our goal is to engage in clean trade. We will enter wherever there is rational investment, and our members will own homes and vehicles without using bank loans. This is very important because we want to produce solutions without indebting people. The profit rates applied by banks are high, but under current economic conditions, this system works that way. We, however, say this: if we unite, our purchasing power increases. When we are listed individually, we remain small, but when we come together, we become thousands."

"SENDIKAS MEMBER OF OUR CONFEDERATION AND OUR MEMBERS WILL BENEFIT FROM ALL THESE ADVANTAGES"

Stating that not only physicians but all civil servants can be included in the system, and that they plan to go public and sell shares in the future, Kurban added, "Everyone who is with us will benefit. We have no personal expectations. We are not just seeking rights; we are also trying to produce solutions. Until today, which union has drafted a law? We held hundreds of meetings over two years amidst all those attempts at obstruction, and all experts said 'It's perfect' about the bill we prepared. It is not the product of a simple workshop, and I am sure that other countries will use this work. We are also the leading union in informatics. There is still no equivalent of our mobile application. The first version of our emergency medicine program called Hadem has been released. Soon, sections such as TUS exam preparation and live forum will be added. This project is also a national project. We are also a leading structure in law. We are proud of our lawyers. Sendikas member of our confederation and our members will benefit from all these advantages. Our goal is not just a union structure, but also to establish a more inclusive system that will strengthen our members economically."
