14 PEOPLE KILLED IN THE ACCIDENT
In a statement from the South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority, it was reported that a Cessna type passenger plane crashed near Juba. The statement said that 13 passengers and the pilot on board lost their lives.
According to initial assessments, the accident may have occurred due to adverse weather conditions reducing visibility. The statement reported that two of the people on board were Kenyan citizens, while the other passengers were South Sudanese.
WRECKAGE ENGULFED IN FLAMES AFTER ACCIDENT
It was stated that investigation and support teams were dispatched to the scene. In images shared on social media, the wreckage of the plane was seen engulfed in flames. It was noted that the area in the images was in a mountainous and foggy region.
