The leading cryptocurrency Bitcoin surpassed $97,000 with the plans of Donald Trump, who was elected as President of the United States.

After the US presidential elections, there was a rise in the overall cryptocurrency market, and Bitcoin reached new record levels. Continuing its momentum, Bitcoin broke a new record by surpassing $97,000 on Thursday, November 21.

According to CoinGecko data, Bitcoin, which saw its all-time high above $97,500 today, has recorded a price increase of 5.5% in the last 24 hours and is currently trading at $97,655.

Bitcoin (BTC) has seen a price increase of 8.3% in a week and 44.5% in a month. BTC has appreciated by 160% on an annual basis.

Trump embraced digital assets during his campaign and promised to make the US the "crypto capital of the planet" and to accumulate a national Bitcoin reserve. Since the election, more than $4 billion has flowed into Bitcoin exchange-traded funds listed in the US.
