Mekin Büyükdeniz, 35, who was wounded in the legs in an armed attack in Spain a few days ago and is alleged to be the leader of the criminal organization called “10 Brothers,” was executed in the hospital room where he was receiving treatment. Büyükdeniz, who was shot with a firearm, lost his life.
Mekin Büyükdeniz, 35, who was receiving treatment at Joan XXIII Hospital in the city of Tarragona, part of Spain’s autonomous region of Catalonia, and who is alleged to be the leader of the criminal organization called “10 Brothers,” lost his life in an armed attack carried out in the early hours of the morning.
HE DIED IN THE ATTACK IN THE HOSPITAL ROOM
According to the report in El Caso, the attacker entered the hospital wearing a bicycle helmet and a hood. He then entered the room where Büyükdeniz was staying, opened fire, and fled. It was learned that Büyükdeniz was also in the room during the attack and was not injured.
HE HAD BEEN TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT AFTER BEING INJURED IN AN ARMED ATTACK
A few days ago, Büyükdeniz was subjected to an armed attack while walking on the street in the city of Salou, part of Tarragona. Büyükdeniz, who was injured in both legs, was taken to the hospital after intervention at the scene and placed under treatment in intensive care. As his condition improved, he was removed from intensive care two days ago and admitted to a ward.
The Catalan police force Mossos d'Esquadra had taken security measures in the intensive care room where Büyükdeniz was staying after the first attack. However, the Spanish press wrote that the security risk had been assessed as lower in recent days and that police surveillance was removed after a person from Turkey began providing him with personal protection.
In El Caso’s report, it was claimed that Büyükdeniz told healthcare workers and police that he was aware he had been targeted before and that he thought his enemies would kill him when they found the opportunity.
THE ATTACKER’S ESCAPE ROUTE IS BEING INVESTIGATED
According to initial findings, it is assessed that the attacker entered the hospital through the emergency department and fled after the attack through the area where the garbage area is located. The police have taken the hospital’s security camera footage under review.
In the report, it was stated that during the attack, two security guards at the hospital were dealing with another incident. It is also being investigated whether this incident, linked to a claim that a nurse in the emergency department was harassed, was arranged to facilitate the armed attacker’s entry into the hospital.
After the attack, the police took extensive measures, including road closures and checkpoints, to catch the attackers. The attacker’s identity and the person or groups behind the incident have not yet been disclosed.
The police are investigating the connection between the first attack on Büyükdeniz in Salou and the murder at the hospital, and by whom the attack was organized.
