PAKISTAN'S TERRORISM ISSUE

Attacks in Pakistan are particularly concentrated in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces, which border Afghanistan. Armed groups claiming to defend the rights of Pashtun and Baloch ethnic groups carry out attacks against Pakistani security forces and civilians in both provinces.

Islamabad claims that the Pakistani Taliban has established itself in Afghanistan and organizes its attacks from there, while the Afghan administration denies these allegations.

In Balochistan, the attacks of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) are particularly notable. The BLA seeks the separation of Balochistan province from Pakistan and for the Baloch people to govern this region. Balochistan is the richest province in Pakistan in terms of resources, yet the region is less developed compared to the rest of the country.

The BLA occasionally attacks security forces, civilians coming to work in Balochistan, and companies operating there.
