Hot moments are unfolding in the illegal betting investigation in football. Journalist Sinan Burhan claimed during a television program that approximately 600 football players will be summoned for questioning next week as part of the investigation. Burhan stated that Interpol has gotten involved, saying, "This list includes several important and popular football players. When the investigation is concluded, the agenda of Turkish football will change completely."

Burhan announced that approximately 600 football players will be called for testimony next week as part of an illegal betting investigation. Burhan stated, "There are many important and popular football players on this list. When the investigation is concluded, the agenda of Turkish football will change completely."
"DREW INTERPOL'S ATTENTION"
Additionally, Burhan revealed that some individuals living in Turkey have been found to be placing bets on Turkish leagues through foreign betting sites. Burhan said, "There are players, managers, and coaches who are betting on Turkish leagues through illegal betting sites in countries like Albania, Bulgaria, and Northern Cyprus. This situation has drawn the attention of Interpol and the matter has been shared with Turkish law enforcement."
ILLEGAL BETTING INVESTIGATION
The statement by the President of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, which shook the refereeing community, was accepted as a report by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated that the investigation will deepen and continue. They indicated that it is an ongoing investigation and that the latest allegations will also be addressed within this scope.
Following TFF President Hacıosmanoğlu's statements, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that an investigation had been initiated regarding allegations of betting involving some referees who officiated in football matches in April 2025. A detention order was issued for a total of 21 individuals, including 17 referees and 2 club presidents, as part of the betting investigation.
