Following the operation, accounts of celebrities with millions of followers, such as Demet Akalın, Burak Özçivit, and Demet Özdemir, experienced drops of hundreds of thousands of followers. While the platform's efforts to reduce fake interactions have had a global impact, the figures emerging in Turkey have become a hot topic on social media.

Social media platform Instagram has launched a large-scale cleanup operation targeting fake and inactive accounts. With the deletion of accounts determined to provide artificial engagement, many celebrities with millions of followers experienced significant follower loss in a short period. In Turkey, the most notable drops were observed in the accounts of Demet Akalın and Burak Özçivit.

BIG DROP FOR LOCAL CELEBRITIES

Following Instagram's operation, many celebrities in Turkey experienced a serious decline in their follower counts. Particularly, accounts with millions of followers saw drops of hundreds of thousands, which drew attention.

Demet Akalın, who had 9.7 million followers, lost 600,000 followers, while Burak Özçivit, with 24.9 million followers, lost 450,000 followers.
