The death of Volkan Konak, who passed away in the hospital after suffering a heart attack on stage during a concert in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), has plunged Turkey into mourning. The artist Bülent Ersoy, who performed in the TRNC, commemorated Konak along with Ferman Toprak.

While singing Volkan Konak's song "Cerrahpaşa" on stage, Bülent Ersoy and Ferman Toprak were overcome with tears. Ersoy, who performed the song, said, "It's my turn."
AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN INITIATED
The TRNC police announced that an investigation has been launched regarding Konak's death on stage. The exact cause of death will be determined in the autopsy report.
HE WILL BE BURIED IN HIS HOMETOWN
A funeral ceremony for Volkan Konak was held today at the Levent Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque. Moments when his wife Selma Konak cried out, "Volkan, how could you do this to me?" broke hearts. The artist's eldest daughter, Şimal Konak, fainted during the ceremony. Despite the rainy weather, there was a crowd at the funeral. Volkan Konak's body will be buried tomorrow in his hometown of Trabzon Maçka, next to his father in the family cemetery.
