Uğur Yurdakul, a board member of GAMA Holding, who lost his daughter undergoing cancer treatment in March, passed away two months later.
Uğur Yurdakul, a member of the board of GAMA Holding, has passed away. The news of Yurdakul's death was announced by his daughter, Berrak Yurdakul, via social media.
Berrak Yurdakul stated in her post: "Goodbye, my father... We will bid farewell to my father, Tevfik Uğur Yurdakul, after the noon prayer to be held on Monday, June 2, at the Bilkent Doğramacızade Ali Paşa Mosque in Ankara, at the Cebeci Asri Cemetery."
HE HAD LOST HIS DAUGHTER
Uğur Yurdakul had experienced great sorrow with the loss of his daughter, Ayşe Deniz Yurdakul, last March. Ayşe Yurdakul, who had been undergoing cancer treatment for 13 years, passed away in March.
WHO IS UĞUR YURDAKUL?
Uğur Yurdakul graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at METU in 1967. He began his career in 1967 as a start-up engineer at the TPAO Batman Refinery Steam Plant. Yurdakul, who worked on various projects completed by GAMA across Turkey, held the positions of Deputy General Manager, Board Member, and Executive Board Member at GAMA Industry between 1982 and 1998.
In 2002, he was involved in the establishment of GAMA Power Systems and served as a Board Member and Executive Board Member of GAMA Holding between 2004 and 2017.
Uğur Yurdakul is one of the later partners of Gama, which was founded in 1959 by contractor businessman Raif Mumcu, along with Erol Üçer, a graduate of ITU Civil Engineering, and Yüksel Erimtan and Uğurhan Tunçata. Yurdakul joined the GAMA family with METU graduates Ergil Ersü, Engin İnanç, Uğur Yurdakul, Ercan Davudoğlu, Gürhan Türeli, Celasin Egel, and Yücel Aksoy. Yurdakul had been serving as a Board Member of GAMA Holding since December 2022.
