PINAR ECZACIBAŞI HAS PASSED AWAY Sad news has come from Pınar Eczacıbaşı, a member of the High Advisory Board of the Young Managers and Businesspeople Association (GYİAD) and the founding president of the Turkey-Luxembourg Business Council. Pınar Eczacıbaşı closed her eyes to life at the age of 65.
SHE WILL BE FAREWELLED ON THURSDAY The funeral ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 8, at Zincirlikuyu Mosque following the noon prayer and will be laid to rest at Zincirlikuyu Cemetery. The family requested donations to the Turkish Education Foundation instead of wreaths.
WHO IS PINAR ECZACIBAŞI? Pınar Eczacıbaşı started her education at Istanbul Fevziye Mektepleri Vakfı – Işık High School and continued her university education in the Department of Chemistry at the University of New Hampshire in the USA. After graduation, she returned to Turkey and completed her master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) - Finance at Boğaziçi University.
Pınar Eczacıbaşı began her business career at Eczacıbaşı Group, in the Sales and Marketing Department of Eczacıbaşı Pharmaceuticals Inc. She continued her career in the finance sector, working in the credit-marketing department at Manufacturers' Hanover Trust Company in Istanbul, and later served as the Department Manager of Correspondent Relations at Tekstilbank and as the Deputy General Manager responsible for marketing to financial institutions at ING Bank N.V Barings - Istanbul.
Since 1998, Pınar Eczacıbaşı has been providing financial and investment consulting services to individuals and organizations. In 2004, she founded GP-Trust Financial Management and Consulting Ltd. The company conducts market research for individuals and institutions wishing to invest in Turkey and provides consulting services in their investments and partnership structuring. The company also served as the Turkey representative of Schroder & Co Banque SA, part of Schroders Group, one of the world's largest investment and financial institutions, from 2004 to 2014.
Pınar Eczacıbaşı served as the Strategic Network Chair of IVCI (Istanbul Venture Capital Initiative), which is advised by the European Investment Fund within the European Investment Bank, and was an independent member of the Investment Committee of TGIF (Turkey Growth and Innovation Fund). Pınar Eczacıbaşı was a member of the High Advisory Board of the Young Managers and Businesspeople Association (GYİAD), one of Turkey's leading civil society organizations, and was the founding president of the Turkey-Luxembourg Business Council established within DEİK (Foreign Economic Relations Board).
She held the positions of Chairman of the Audit Committee and Vice President of the European Region within DEİK. During her tenure as the President of the Turkish-Belgian Business Council at DEİK, she was awarded the highest Belgian honor by King Philippe of Belgium in 2012 for her contributions to the relations between the two countries, and she had also been appointed as a 'Diplomatic Economic Advisor' by the Belgian Government in Turkey since 2013. Pınar Eczacıbaşı was also a member of the Finance Club and a founding member of the Foundation for the Protection of Important Historical Artifacts in Istanbul.
