Asım Kibar, the founder and honorary chairman of Kibar Holding, one of the leading names in Turkish industry, has passed away. The funeral of the veteran businessman Kibar will be held on Sunday, June 8, following the afternoon prayer at Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque, and he will be buried in the family graveyard at Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.
WHO IS ASIM KİBAR?
Born in 1933 in Kayseri, Asım Kibar started his business career in 1951 with wholesale textile trade and served as a board member, vice chairman, and chairman of the board at the Central Anatolia Textile Factory from 1964 to 1970.
In 1970, Asım Kibar began trading iron and established the family company in Istanbul. He served as the founder and chairman of the board of Kibar Holding, which currently encompasses a total of 24 companies. In 2002, he was awarded the "Commandatore Order of Merit" by the President of Italy, and in 2016, he received the "Honorary Award of the Turkish Business World" from Capital and Ekonomist magazines. Kibar was also a founding member of the Community Volunteers Foundation.
Asım Kibar, the chairman of Kibar Holding, had been actively involved in the business life of the Kibar Group as the founder and honorary chairman since 2014.
