Private public buses in Istanbul have stopped operating due to not receiving their receivables amounting to 6 billion lira from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB). Following the shutdown, there was a significant crowd at the bus stops, and those who had lost hope of boarding the buses turned to taxis. Göksel Ovacık, the President of the Istanbul Private Public Buses Tradesmen's Chamber, stated that they have not received any payments from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality for four months.



In Istanbul, private public buses shut down their operations, claiming they have not received their receivables amounting to 6 billion lira from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM). Following the shutdown of private public buses and the arrival of full IETT buses, congestion began to form at the stops early in the morning.

In a statement from the Istanbul Public Bus Owners and Operators Tradesmen's Chamber, it was noted that despite the contract signed with IMM, irregular and delayed payments have been ongoing for approximately 4 years, and it was announced that 3,041 private public buses would shut down their operations. While private public buses shut down today in Istanbul, congestion began to form at some stops early in the morning.
