The uncensored Jeffrey Epstein files released to the public in the U.S. have caused a major stir worldwide. The documents reveal that Epstein abused a child as young as nine years old and was connected to a high-ranking foreign government official who is still in office.
The files examined by members of the U.S. Congress have shown that the Epstein scandal, which has been discussed for years, is just the tip of the iceberg. Some lawmakers have accused the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) of concealing the facts.
Powerful names with concealed identities
Congress members Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna revealed that at least six powerful men's identities have been deliberately concealed in the files. It is claimed that one of these individuals is a high-ranking foreign politician.
Massie stated that one of the individuals mentioned in the documents holds "a very high government position in a foreign country." Nevertheless, this person's name, photo, and all information are redacted in the files.
Lawmakers emphasize that there is no logical explanation for why these names are being protected.
The most shocking detail: a 9-year-old child
House Representative Jamie Raskin announced that there are new victims in the files that have never been known before. One of them, in a deeply shocking manner, was only 9 years old.
Raskin stated:
"The files contain children aged 15, 14, and 10. Today, I saw that a nine-year-old child was mentioned. This is truly horrifying and unacceptable."
Accusation of "cover-up" against the Department of Justice
In one of the documents shared by Massie, 18 different names were completely redacted. Some of these names were described as "men born before 1970."
In another document, it is stated that the person whose identity is concealed is a very well-known, retired CEO. Massie reacted by saying, "The Department of Justice must disclose this name."
Raskin also mentioned that many individuals who assisted Epstein and collaborated with him had their names removed without any justification.
Ghislaine Maxwell remains silent
Ghislaine Maxwell, one of Epstein's closest associates, was called to testify in Congress. However, Maxwell did not answer any questions upon the advice of her lawyers.
Maxwell, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison in Texas, avoided discussing her relationship with Epstein by invoking her "right to remain silent" under the U.S. Constitution.
In the footage, Maxwell can be heard saying, "I would like to answer questions, but I refuse on the advice of my lawyers."
Shocking message: "I loved the torture video"
In one of the uncensored documents, a message sent to Epstein by a previously concealed individual caught attention:
"Where are you? Are you okay? I loved the torture video."
U.S. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche implied that the sender of this message was businessman Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem from the United Arab Emirates. Bin Sulayem's name had appeared in the files before.
Epstein's "co-conspirators" list is expanding
In the newly released documents, American billionaire Les Wexner is listed as one of Epstein's "co-conspirators." The documents also include Ghislaine Maxwell, French modeling agency owner Jean-Luc Brunel, and Lesley Groff, who served as Epstein's assistant for many years.
Notable statement from Buckingham Palace
In the British aspect of the scandal, Buckingham Palace broke its silence. The Palace stated that King Charles is deeply concerned about the mention of his brother Prince Andrew's name in the Epstein files.
The statement from the Palace indicated that the King supports full cooperation with the police in any potential investigation.
The statement also reiterated the sorrow and solidarity felt for all victims of abuse.
