Ahmet Sarı, who shot and killed his wife and brother-in-law in Adıyaman, confessed to the murders in his statement. Sarı stated that a dispute arose between them because he asked his wife for help while renovating the house, but she went to work instead. He mentioned that after the murders, he went to a soup shop to have soup and was caught at the hotel where he was staying.
A chilling incident occurred on the evening of December 10 in the Aşağı Sarhan neighborhood of Besni district in Adıyaman. A dispute broke out between Ahmet Sarı (54), who works as a painter, his wife Selvi Sarı (47), and his brother-in-law Muharrem Arslan (55).
KILLED HIS WIFE AND BROTHER-IN-LAW As the argument escalated, Ahmet Sarı fired a gun at his wife and brother-in-law and fled the scene. Upon receiving the alert, police and medical teams were dispatched to the address. When the teams entered the house, they found the bloody bodies of Selvi Sarı and Muharrem Arslan on the floor. The bodies of Sarı and Arslan were buried after the autopsy procedures at Besni State Hospital and the funeral prayer held at Mustafa Baba Mosque.
Killed Selvi Sarı CAUGHT IN A HOTEL It was determined that Ahmet Sarı, who was reported to have psychological issues, went to Gölbaşı district on a motorcycle and checked into a hotel after the incident. The police captured the suspect in an operation at the hotel. After completing the procedures at the Besni District Police Department, Ahmet Sarı was arrested by the court to which he was referred.
Killed Muharrem Arslan ASKED HIS WIFE FOR HELP WITH RENOVATION The statement of murder suspect Ahmet Sarı at the police station has emerged. In his statement, he said that on the day of the incident, he asked his wife Selvi for help with the renovation of their house, but his wife did not help him and went to work instead. He stated that a dispute broke out between them when his wife returned home. "At that moment, my wife shouted, and Muharrem Arslan came to the house. I don't remember if I opened the door. While Muharrem was in the house, he said, 'You are not my husband, you are dishonorable.'
"I FIRED A NUMBER OF SHOTS I DON'T REMEMBER" Ahmet Sarı stated that he got angry at the words his wife said to him, saying, "I am about two or three steps inside the room according to the entrance of the door. It started when my wife came towards me. She grabbed my collar. Muharrem approached us and said, 'Shame on you, what are you doing, let go.' Then I lost control and took the gun I had left outside the house from the barn. I fired a number of shots I don't remember," he said.
WENT TO A SOUP RESTAURANT AFTER THE MURDERS Sarı stated that after the double murder, he left the house, went to Gölbaşı district on his motorcycle, entered a soup restaurant, had soup, and was caught at the hotel where he stayed.
