24-year-old Ali Yol, who serves as the fourth captain on a gas ship in Abu Dhabi, was arrested about 2 months ago on the allegation that a piece of metal that fell into the sea from the ship damaged internet cables. The young man's brother stated that his brother suffers from asthma, has lost 20-25 kilograms during this time, cannot eat, cannot sleep, is kept in a very cold environment, and has not even been provided with a blanket to cover himself, and he requested help from the authorities.

Ali Yol (24), a sailor from Samandağ, was serving as the fourth captain on a ship that allegedly dropped its anchor accidentally during a passage through the Red Sea two months ago. After a while, the crew noticed the situation and returned to retrieve the anchor. However, it was claimed that the dropped anchor damaged the underwater internet cables in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Following the incident, both the ship's captain and Ali Yol, who served as the fourth captain, were detained and arrested.

Initially, it was stated that they would be released shortly, but despite the passage of time, no concrete developments have occurred.

"THE ENVIRONMENT IS VERY COLD, HIS CONDITION IS VERY BAD"

Ali Yol's brother, Selim Yol, stated that they have applied to the relevant authorities for his brother's release but have not been successful, saying, "My brother has only been given a phone call once in about a month. Before that, he was able to reach us by using the phone rights of someone inside. My brother has asthma. He says he has lost 20-25 kilos during this time, that he cannot eat, and that he can no longer sleep. He was taken into custody only with the clothes he was wearing, and to this day, he has not been given any clothes to change into, the opportunity to take a shower, or a blanket to cover himself. He expresses that the environment he is in is very cold and that his condition is very bad. We are seriously worried about his declining body resistance and what might happen to him. We still have not received a clear result from any of the places we have applied to. Despite being told repeatedly that 'he will be released today or tomorrow,' no concrete development has occurred. Our only request is that my brother be returned to the ship or allowed to return to Turkey until the investigation is completed. God forbid, we are afraid something bad will happen to him. We want our voices to be heard," he said.

"'MOM, PLEASE GET ME OUT OF HERE' HE IS BEGGING"

Yıldız Yol, Ali's mother, said, "My child has been sick for 2 months and no longer has the strength to endure. He has fallen into depression. He is begging, 'Mom, please get me out of here.' We can do nothing. May God bless everyone who is concerned and supportive here. Everyone has done their best to help. However, we cannot do anything from here; our hands are tied. My child is still unable to be released this way. He is drowning there. Please let them hear our voices. His only wish has been to say, 'At least take me out to eat, let me breathe'; we couldn't even make that happen. No money has come from his company for two months. We do not know what is happening there. We do not have the strength to go to him, and there is nothing we can do. We are also financially exhausted. My only request is for my son to be released from there. I want the relevant authorities to do whatever they can. I do not want anything else. Bring my son back safely. We are in a very desperate situation," she said.
