CHP leader Özgür Özel, stating that he will go to meet with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, said, "We will discuss the conditions for Syrian citizens in Turkey to return to Syria. There are 1 million children born in Turkey, visa facilitation and gestures can be made for these children. Additionally, some gestures can be made for other Syrian citizens who were born in Turkey."
CHP Leader Özgür Özel stated in a live broadcast that he could meet with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to solve the refugee issue.
"I WILL GO TO MEET WITH ASSAD"
CHP leader Özel, who said "I am ready to take the initiative here," said, "If necessary, I will go to meet with Assad to open dialogue channels between Syria and Turkey. We are researching the ground for this. There are positive developments, and we will announce them when the time comes. We are in search of common ground; we are working on it. We will convey our clear demand for him to sit at the table with Turkey and fulfill the responsibility of the main opposition. Because this problem will not be solved without sitting at the table," he said.
"GESTURES CAN BE MADE TO SYRIAN CITIZENS"
Özel, who stated that they will discuss the conditions for Syrian citizens in Turkey to return to their countries with Assad, said, "Of course, there is a political aspect to this. Assad needs to give certain guarantees. We can put forward some incentives. There are 1 million children born in Turkey, visa facilitation and gestures can be made for these children.
