Striking details in the corruption investigation into Kırıkkale’s Yahşihan Municipality were brought to the agenda of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. CHP Kars Deputy İnan Akgün Alp, in his statement from the parliamentary rostrum, stated that the former zoning director’s assets were 4.5 times those of the municipality; he bought 68 million worth of luxury vehicles, villas in Bodrum, and a yacht. Alp, who reported that 1,630 real estate properties were registered under the Deputy Mayor’s name and that 11,000 rounds of ammunition were found in his home, expressed his reaction.

CHP Kars MP and member of the Turkish Parliament's Justice Committee İnan Akgün Alp brought to the Turkish Parliament's General Assembly the asset and ammunition allegations that emerged in the corruption investigation into the municipality in the Yahşihan district of Kırıkkale. Listing the allegations regarding the former zoning director's million-lira vehicles, his villa in Bodrum and his yacht, Alp said that there were 1,630 properties registered in the deputy mayor's name and that more than 11,000 bullets were seized in his home.

“THE ZONING DIRECTOR’S ASSETS HAVE REACHED 4.5 TIMES THE MUNICIPALITY’S”

Speaking from the parliamentary podium, Alp drew attention to luxury vehicle and real estate purchases while relaying allegations regarding the assets of the former zoning director of Yahşihan Municipality.

Alp mentioned allegations that the former zoning director bought himself a car worth 68 million liras, bought a vehicle of the same value for his sister-in-law, and bought another car worth 23 million liras for his aunt. Also stating that there was a 300 million-lira summer house and a 110 million-lira yacht in Bodrum, Alp said that the examinations revealed that the former zoning director's assets reached 4.5 times the municipality's assets.

1,630 PROPERTIES ARE REGISTERED UNDER THE DEPUTY MAYOR’S NAME

Another issue Alp raised in his speech was the properties registered in the name of the Yahşihan Deputy Mayor and the ammunition seized in his home.

In the examinations carried out within the scope of the investigation, it was determined that there were 1,630 properties in the name of Deputy Mayor Satılmış Serkan Yıldıran. In the search conducted at Yıldıran's home, an unlicensed pistol and 11,312 pistol cartridges were seized.

In his speech, Alp drew attention to the number of the aforementioned properties and used the following statements:

“They investigated the assets; the Zoning Director's assets have reached 4.5 times the municipality's assets. 1,630 properties were identified in the name of the Deputy Mayor of the same municipality. Also, 11,000 bullets were seized in his home.”

“WILL THEY BE REMOVED FROM THE WHATSAPP GROUP?”

At the end of his speech, İnan Akgün Alp touched upon the political responsibility debate along with the allegations brought up within the scope of the investigation. Referring to the number of properties registered in the name of the deputy mayor, Alp used the following statements:

“I don't know what he will do with the bullets, but I am very curious, sir, whether those who remained silent until acquiring 1,629 properties will be removed from the WhatsApp group.”

With these words, Alp appeared to criticize the attitude of political circles in the face of the allegations that emerged in the investigation into the municipality.
