Two people were trapped underground in a collapse that occurred while digging a water well in the Bafra district of Samsun. Rescue efforts for the two workers are ongoing.

TRAPPED IN A 10-METER COLLAPSE

A collapse occurred while digging a water well in the Evrenuşağı neighborhood of Bafra district. Sabri Bayraktar and Mustafa Aydın, two workers in the well, were trapped underground at a depth of approximately 10 meters. Upon notification, UMKE, AFAD, Fire Department, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene.

RESCUE OPERATIONS INITIATED

Due to the area where the well is located being a hazelnut orchard, rescue teams faced difficulties in reaching the site with their vehicles. In the challenging terrain, the teams started working to rescue the workers. Bafra District Governor Mustafa Altınpınar also arrived at the scene to closely monitor the rescue efforts.
