After the terrorist organization PKK's decision to lay down arms and dissolve, evacuations have begun in shelters in northern Iraq. Security sources confirmed that the organization has vacated the Siyani Camp and Bahar Tepe area, located on Mount Gara near the Turkish border, which were among its most critical bases.
The reflections of the decisions made by the terrorist organization PKK regarding disarmament and dissolution have accelerated in the field.
While a noticeable movement is observed in the shelter areas in northern Iraq, according to information obtained by the newspaper Nefes from security sources, it has been confirmed that the organization has evacuated the Siyani Camp on Mount Gara and the Bahar Tepe region, which are close to the Turkish border.
HAS A PAINFUL PAST FOR TURKEY
Mount Gara, known for its proximity to the Turkish border, and especially the Siyani Camp, consisting of interconnected tunnels dug underground, served as a strategic command center for the organization. Operational instructions to be given to terrorists within Turkey were coordinated by the so-called Northern Dispatch Command, comprising eleven personnel stationed in this region. The Siyani Camp also harbors a painful past for Turkey. The camp was known as the place where twelve of our security personnel and one Iraqi citizen, abducted in 2013 after a road blockade, were held hostage by terrorists and then martyred.
THE CAMP WAS A CENTRAL BASE
The evacuated camp was one of the central bases of the organization's military and logistical infrastructure. Within the camp, there were so-called Apollo Academies, where assassination, sabotage, and intelligence training were conducted, and the Ali Çiçek Academy, where ideological training was held. Additionally, two separate underground laboratories used for the production of improvised explosive devices, bomb-laden drones, and remote-controlled bombs were also active in this area.
WAS USED AS A HEADQUARTERS
It was determined that production and shelter facilities in the area, which the terrorist organization used almost as a headquarters, were also evacuated. It was reported that within the camp boundaries, a guesthouse used for those visiting leaders, four separate sewing workshops, and a purchasing unit, as well as two separate prisons where kidnapped civilians were held hostage, were among the evacuated points. It was learned that security units are closely monitoring the movement in the region.
AGREEMENT REACHED WITH ÖCALAN ON FRAMEWORK LAW
Meanwhile, according to claims reflected in the corridors, the framework law prepared for a Terror-Free Turkey was presented to PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan. It was alleged that Öcalan evaluated the text and a mutual agreement was reached.
