President's Chief Advisor Oktay Saral sparked controversy by quoting a statement made by writer Mine Kırıkkanat five years ago. Saral said, "Look at me, Mine Kafasıkırık! Voters who support CHP municipalities, which produce no works, contribute nothing, and have no projects other than city restaurants and milk distribution, are defined as uncultured and ignorant."
President's Chief Advisor Oktay Saral ignited a major controversy with a post he made on his X account. Saral used quite harsh expressions while quoting a speech made by writer Mine Kırıkkanat in 2020.
"STICK IT IN YOUR BROKEN HEAD, YOU UNEDUCATED WOMAN"
Saral said, "Look at me, Mine Kafasıkırık! Voters who support CHP municipalities that produce no works, build nothing, and have no projects other than city restaurants, milk distribution, and ambiguous sculptures are defined as uncultured and ignorant. Stick that in your broken head, you uneducated woman!"
KIRIKKANAT: I REPORT YOU TO YOUR OFFICE
Kırıkkanat also responded with a message on her social media account, tagging President Erdoğan, saying: "Mr. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, an advisor representing your office should never speak in such a low-level manner. The position he holds requires a demeanor and respect befitting the state. A person who carries that position with dignity does not attack a female writer or anyone else by crossing the boundaries of decency, nor does he display such reprehensible behavior. I report this individual to your office and bring it to your attention."
