The hearing of the case in which Murat Kara, a father of three, lost his life in an armed attack on a street wedding in Gaziantep continued. While defendant Emin U. claimed he fired randomly in the dark, other defendants stated they had no involvement in the incident. “I FIRED RANDOMLY” DEFENSE

Defendant Emin U. stated in his defense:

"The electricity was cut off. I fired randomly. The shotgun I fired was inside the vehicle. I don't know who it belonged to. Then, together with Duran and Salih, we got into the car and fled."

Emin U. detailed the wedding process, travel, and social media posts in his account prior to the incident. Claiming that his purpose for coming to the scene was not an attack, the defendant requested acquittal and release.

Defendant Salih U. argued that Emin was not at the wedding during the incident. Detailing their movements between Nizip and Gaziantep, Salih U. stated that they did not bring the shotgun and denied involvement.

Defendant Duran U. similarly rejected the accusations. Describing the wedding process, Duran U. claimed that Emin later did not act with them. He stated that they had left the wedding at the time of the incident and did not see any weapon.

Plaintiff İbrahim B. mentioned the defendants' past relationships and Emin's threatening social media posts. He claimed that gunfire was opened and that he saw the defendants during the incident.

Canan K., the wife of the deceased Murat Kara, stated that she did not know the defendants and that there was great panic at the wedding during the incident. She said there was no feud and that she complained about the defendants.

The incident occurred on November 24, 2023, in the Aydıntepe neighborhood of Şehitkamil district. According to the allegation, the street wedding was attacked with firearms by relatives of the bride's former religious husband.
