1168 POINTS IDENTIFIED

Transportation Coordination Branch Manager Rıdvan Oğul, who spoke about the revision of speed limits, stated, "The work was initiated upon the request outlined in the Presidential circular numbered 2025/14, which summarizes the necessity of reassessing speed limits on highways, examining the signs that determine speed limits based on road structure, and ensuring uniformity across the country. A commission was established by the governorship regarding this matter. Within the scope of the work, a total of 1,168 points were identified on 84 road routes determined by the commission, in accordance with the definition of high-capacity roads for which municipalities are responsible for maintenance and repair, as specified in the circular."

WORK WILL BE COMPLETED BY DECEMBER 31, 2025

Continuing his speech, Transportation Coordination Branch Manager Oğul said, "As a result of these identifications, speed limits were redefined. Regulations regarding the signs were revised. A total of 84 routes were redefined, with 57 points on the European side and 27 routes on the Anatolian side. As a result of this work, the implementation of a total of 1,105 signs on-site and the removal of 14,655 signs were decided. It is a significant effort across Istanbul. According to the schedule, fieldwork must be completed by December 31, 2025."
