The Ministry of Health made a statement regarding the 'yellow serum' in response to recent reports of death cases in the media, saying, "It can only be administered if there is excessive fluid loss in the individual (due to vomiting, diarrhea, sweating, and inability to consume liquid food during the relevant period) and if there is a deficiency of minerals and vitamins determined by measuring blood values, and it can be carried out under the appropriate conditions of a healthcare institution by trained healthcare personnel upon the physician's decision."

The Ministry of Health made a statement on its social media account regarding the 'yellow serum' in response to recent reported death cases in the press.

"NOT SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN"

In the statement, it was noted that "Yellow serum may contain vitamin C, B group vitamins, magnesium, stomach protectants, anti-nausea medications, anti-inflammatory drugs, antioxidants, muscle relaxants, pain relievers, and magnesium within normal serum. For individuals who cannot be fed orally or cannot benefit from vitamins and minerals even if they can be fed, the administration of vitamins and minerals via serum can only be performed under controlled conditions with the decision of a physician, in appropriate health conditions, and with sterile devices. The expectations and promises that yellow serum will provide health benefits such as quick recovery, vitality, and strengthening mental state in cases of extreme fatigue, flu infections, or 'hangover' are not scientifically proven. The health risks that may arise from the application of yellow serum vary depending on the type, number, and amount of vitamins and minerals added to the serum, the speed of serum administration into the vein, and the health status of the person being treated," it was stated.

"CAN TRIGGER HEART RHYTHM DISORDERS"

It was emphasized that yellow serum has no proven benefits other than feeling good, and in some cases, it has been scientifically proven to be harmful. The following statements were made: "In individuals with changes in magnesium or potassium levels in their blood (for example, those with kidney disease, those taking diuretics, or those who have consumed excessive alcohol), the use of magnesium-containing serum can trigger heart rhythm disorders. 'Yellow serum' can lead to depression, sleep disorders, and digestive system disorders. 'Yellow serum', when administered rapidly, can cause a drop in blood pressure and loss of consciousness, even leading to fainting. Intravenous fluids can have adverse effects in individuals with high blood pressure and heart disease. If the flow rate and amount of the serum are not adjusted according to the individual, it can lead to fluid-electrolyte imbalance, heart and kidney problems, and even water retention and swelling in the brain. Air bubbles administered with the serum can lead to serious problems, including stroke. As a result, this application can only be performed by trained healthcare personnel in appropriate health institution conditions with the decision of a physician if there is excessive fluid loss (due to vomiting, diarrhea, sweating, and inability to consume liquid food during the relevant period) and if there is a mineral and vitamin deficiency determined by measuring blood values."
