On October 8, as part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, actions were initiated by the Istanbul Gendarmerie Command teams against 19 suspects, including famous names. Test results have been released for the famous individuals from whom blood and hair samples were taken regarding drug use.
DRUGS DETECTED IN 8 CELEBRITIES
Dilan Polat, Derin Talu, Berrak Tüzünataç, Deren Talu, Birce Akalay, Kubilay Aka, Kaan Yıldırım, and Metin Akdülger tested positive. Duygu Özaslan Mutaf, Demet Evgar Babataş, Mert Yazıcıoğlu, Zeynep Meriç Aral, Ceren Moray Orcan, Hadise Açıkgöz, and Özge Özpirinçci Yamantürk, however, did not show any prohibited substances.
THE TALU SISTERS WILL HAVE THE TEST REPEATED
Derin and Deren Talu, who tested positive, reacted to the test results. The Talu sisters announced on their social media accounts that they would have the test done again.
JOINT STATEMENT FROM THE TALU SISTERS
In a joint statement, Derin and Deren Talu said, "I am in shock. I have never used drugs in my life. The results are absolutely not correct. Is it that easy to tarnish someone's name? The only correct result in my blood is the sertraline result, which is the antidepressant I use. I once again understood that it is impossible to live in this country without using antidepressants. I do not accept the results at all. I will have the test done again at an independent institution. I will not allow my name to be tarnished." they stated.
DEFNE SAMYELİ: WE WILL HAVE THE TESTS REPEATED
Defne Samyeli, the mother of the Talu sisters, stated, "I am someone who advocates not only against drugs but even the banning of cigarettes. The effectiveness of the state in combating the trade, distribution, and prevalence of drugs is already a huge question mark. How these names were determined to be taken into custody so abruptly, and how the complaints against them were made, has not yet been communicated to them or to us families. Because there is a 'confidentiality' decision in the file. Moreover, we are learning about these controversial test results from the press. We do not trust this operation or the results of the Forensic Medicine Institution. We will have these tests done again for my children at an independent expert hospital." she said.
