In the cave where 12 soldiers were martyred due to poisoning from methane gas in the Pençe-Kilit Operation area, a statement was made by the Disinformation Combat Center regarding the claim that "a trap was set." The statement indicated that the claims do not reflect the truth.
The Presidency of Communication's Disinformation Combat Center (DMM) reported that the claim of "booby trapping" in the cave where 12 soldiers were poisoned by methane gas and martyred in the Pençe-Kilit Operation area does not reflect the truth.
DENIAL OF THE "BOOBY TRAP" CLAIM IN THE CAVE WHERE 12 SOLDIERS WERE MARTYRED
DMM made a statement regarding the claims of "booby trapping" in the cave where 12 soldiers were poisoned by methane gas in the Pençe-Kilit Operation area.
The statement included, "In some media outlets, the claims based on the evaluation of a retired personnel regarding the tragic incident that occurred in the Pençe-Kilit Operation area, stating that 'booby trapping was done in the cave,' are products of disinformation."
"THE CAVE HAS BEEN UNDER TSK CONTROL FOR TWO YEARS"
In a statement made by the Ministry of National Defense regarding the incident, it was clearly stated that the claim of booby trapping in the tragic event that occurred on July 6 at the peak with an altitude of 852 meters is unfounded. It was noted that, "As emphasized by the sources of the Ministry of National Defense, since the mentioned cave has been under TSK control for approximately two years, it is not possible for terrorists to carry out chemical booby trapping."
The claim that the affected personnel were entered into the cave simultaneously is also not true. Comments made in the capacity of a retired soldier should not be perceived as official information by the public. It is necessary to be cautious against individuals or groups trying to create information pollution by exploiting the sacred memory of our martyrs, with a sense of social responsibility. It is of great importance for the public to base their understanding solely on the statements made by official authorities and to be vigilant against disinformation campaigns that aim to create unfounded claims.
