The Republican People's Party (CHP) is holding its 21st Extraordinary Congress today with a decision taken against the risk of appointing a trustee to the party. A crisis arose involving Deniz Baykal, who served as the party's chairman for 18 years, at the congress attended by 1,300 delegates.
Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu, who was elected as the Chairman of the Congress, overlooked Deniz Baykal while mentioning the CHP chairpersons. Yılmaz Ateş, a former CHP Ankara MP known for his closeness to Baykal, reacted to the situation on his X account.
