The Republican People's Party's 21st Extraordinary Congress took place today in Ankara. CHP General Chairman Özgür Özel, who ran as the sole candidate, was re-elected as the chairman.

CALL TO ERDOĞAN
In his speech, Özel criticized the arrest of Ekrem İmamoğlu and the corruption and terrorism investigation against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, calling out to President Erdoğan. Özel stated, "We want to see our candidate next to us at the ballot box."
Özel also expressed the following: "We have launched the largest signature campaign in the history of political history. The campaign is about saying freedom for Ekrem İmamoğlu and bringing the ballot box to Erdoğan, 'I want my candidate next to me at the ballot box.' It will be the largest vote of no confidence given to the government in the history of world politics. When we succeed, there will be an illegitimate government in front of us that has received a vote of no confidence from more than half of the voters in Turkey when we demand early elections.
In this country, we will show the world that this coup-like government is no longer wanted in Turkey, just as we collected signatures from more than half of the people and as in the records of the same solidarity ballot box at the same rally in Maltepe and the rallies that night."
