According to the "Non-Consolidated Key Indicators of the Turkish Banking Sector" report by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) for the period of September 2024, the sector's total assets increased by 6 trillion 966 billion 779 million lira compared to the end of 2023, reaching 30 trillion 518 billion 692 million lira. The largest asset item in the sector, loans, amounted to 15 trillion 14 billion 391 million lira compared to the end of 2023, while the total of marketable securities reached 4 trillion 893 billion 873 million lira. During this period, the ratio of non-performing loans also stood at 1.71 percent. Deposits, which are the largest source of funds within banks' resources, increased by 20.1 percent compared to the end of 2023, reaching 17 trillion 835 billion 273 million lira. During the same period, the total equity increased by 22.8 percent, reaching 2 trillion 643 billion 632 million lira. As of the end of September, the sector's net profit for the period was recorded as 460 billion 412 million lira, and the standard capital adequacy ratio was noted as 18.20 percent.
