In the Tarsus district of Mersin, two children from a family of eight who were hospitalized due to suspected poisoning have died. During an interview with the family, it was revealed that there were rats in the house, and they had placed rat poison in different areas of the home for this reason. Teams that went to the house also conducted an investigation while wearing protective clothing.
An 8-member family was hospitalized with suspected poisoning in the Tarsus district of Mersin. The family's 2-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son could not be saved despite all interventions.

The incident occurred in a house on 4312 Street in the Yeşilevler neighborhood. According to the information received, a foreign national family of 8 was taken to Tarsus State Hospital with suspected poisoning yesterday. Despite all interventions, 2-year-old Rana and 4-year-old Ömer Elyusuf from the family of 8 lost their lives. Those in critical condition, Memun (34), Ahid (9), İlaf (7), Selem Elyusuf (4), and Selam Duho (1) were transferred to Mersin City Hospital. It was reported that Hazal Duho (29), who was in good condition, refused treatment and was discharged.
TEAMS ENTERED THE HOUSE IN SPECIAL CLOTHING
While the exact cause of the incident remains unclear, police forensic teams, along with AFAD and health department teams from Adana and Mersin, entered the house in protective clothing to conduct an investigation due to the possibility of a chemical substance.
Yeşilevler Neighborhood Headman Mehmet Metin stated that the teams were working in the house regarding the incident and that the cause of the incident was still unknown.
Additionally, it was expressed that 4 individuals receiving treatment in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of Mersin City Training and Research Hospital would be transferred to Etlik and Bilkent City Hospitals.
