A 17-year-old girl who entered the water to cool off at Salda Lake in the Yeşilova district of Burdur went missing after experiencing a drowning risk. She was rescued by AFAD teams following a report from her friends and was taken to the hospital.
Burdur's Yeşilova district, a 17-year-old girl who was in danger of drowning in Lake Salda was rescued by AFAD teams. It was learned that the young girl is still in critical condition, while the cries of her friends during the incident broke hearts.
The incident occurred around 3:30 PM near the Ağan Facilities at the Salda Lake Public Beach in Yeşilova district. According to the information obtained, S.K. (17), who came to the lake with three friends from Afyonkarahisar, entered the water to cool off. Shortly after, her friends noticed that the young girl was struggling in the water and had disappeared, and they immediately reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
Upon the notification, health, gendarmerie, police, and AFAD teams were dispatched to the scene. As a result of the search and rescue efforts conducted by divers and boats affiliated with AFAD, S.K. was quickly pulled from the water with the support of lifeguards on the beach.
After the initial intervention on the beach, the young girl was taken to Yeşilova State Hospital, and from there she was transferred to Burdur State Hospital and then to Antalya City Hospital for further examination and treatment.
It was learned that S.K., who is undergoing treatment, is still in critical condition, while the cries of her friends, who were overwhelmed with tears at the moment of the incident, also brought emotional moments to the surrounding citizens. - BURDUR
