The President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, participated in the Eurasian Economic Union Summit held in the capital of Belarus, Minsk, via video conference.

HARSH STATEMENTS FROM PEZESHKIAN

In his speech, Pezeshkian noted that he could not attend the summit due to current developments, stating, "The Zionist regime has been carrying out brutal attacks and terrorist actions on Iranian territory since June 13. These attacks occurred while indirect negotiations regarding a peaceful nuclear program between Iran and the USA were ongoing, and even nuclear facilities under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) were targeted."

"US AND ISRAEL ATTACKS ARE ILLEGAL"

Describing the attacks by the US and Israel as contrary to international law, Pezeshkian stated, "These attacks cause irreparable damage to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). These attacks by a permanent member of the United Nations (UN) Security Council raise questions about the legitimacy of the institutions."

"IF WE HAD LEFT IT UNANSWERED, AN UNCONTROLLABLE WAR COULD HAVE BROKEN OUT"

Emphasizing the great importance of the Eurasian Economic Union Summit in conveying the common voice of member countries to the world against regional and global threats, Pezeshkian said, "During the 12-day imposed war, the Iranian Armed Forces defended their people, national sovereignty, and territorial integrity in a legitimate and determined manner based on Article 51 of the UN Charter."

Pezeshkian stated, "If this attack had gone unanswered, the region could have faced a comprehensive and uncontrollable war. Tolerant policies towards the Zionist regime and the continuous disregard for human rights violations must come to an end."
