Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that they are ready to hold the third round of negotiations with Ukraine in Istanbul, and that the memorandums presented by the parties are contradictory to each other.
Russian President Vladimir Putin held a press conference in the capital of Belarus, Minsk, as part of his official visit.
Putin stated that the date for the third round of peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, held in Istanbul, will be determined after the completion of the prisoner exchange negotiations that are being discussed in Turkey on June 2.
"In general, we are ready for this (next round of talks), we need to coordinate the place and time. I hope that the President of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. (Recep Tayyip) Erdoğan, will continue to support this process, and we are very grateful to him for that," he said.
He added that the dates for the next Russia-Ukraine talks will be determined by the heads of the negotiating teams.
"We are ready to hold such a meeting in Istanbul. However, especially when there are group leaders from both sides and they are in constant contact, they agree on the timing of the meeting," he said.
Putin also added that he believes the delegations should discuss the memorandums related to the peace agreement.
