In his assessments regarding the possible threat from Israel towards Turkey, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated, "We defend our country with both our minds and our hearts. We are not afraid of death anyway. There is nothing that can scare us." He also emphasized the importance of being prepared for the worst-case scenario. Minister Fidan added, "Our people should be at ease."
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made striking evaluations regarding the 12-day war between Israel and Iran, which ended with a ceasefire, during a live broadcast program he attended.
"IS ISRAEL'S MAIN TARGET TURKEY?"
In one part of the program, responding to the question "Is Israel's main target Turkey?", Minister Fidan stated, "We defend our country with both our minds and our hearts. We are not afraid of death anyway. There is nothing that can scare us," while also emphasizing the need to be prepared for the worst-case scenario.
Minister Fidan's response is as follows:
"THERE IS NOTHING TO SCARE US THERE"
"We defend our country with both our minds and our hearts. That is, we are not afraid of death anyway. There is nothing to scare us there.
"ALL NECESSARY MATTERS ARE BEING ADDRESSED"
We know that we are right, but as I said, what is important for us is to manage the issue with other actors by establishing a rational dialogue by analyzing threats professionally. All necessary matters are being addressed in that regard.
"OUR PEOPLE SHOULD BE AT EASE"
However, it is necessary to be prepared for the worst-case scenario. In other words, state affairs are not to be taken lightly or left to chance. Therefore, our people should be at ease on that matter. As I expressed, our relevant institutions are truly working diligently.
