Police teams carried out an operation against a gang that turned the garden of a shanty house in Istanbul's Esenyurt district into a drug distribution center. The moments when the drug traffickers, including elderly female couriers, made direct sales were captured second by second by police cameras.
In Istanbul's Esenyurt district, technical and physical surveillance carried out by security forces as part of the fight against narcotics crimes uncovered a mind-boggling drug network. It was determined that the gang, which turned the garden of a shanty house in the area into a drug distribution point, used elderly women as couriers in order not to attract the attention of security forces and not to arouse suspicion.
RECORDED SECOND BY SECOND FROM BEHIND THE GARDEN WALL
According to a report by journalist İhsan Yalçın, security personnel who launched an investigation into the address positioned themselves around the shanty house and began covert surveillance. The teams recorded moment by moment, through the garden walls, the drug trafficking carried out in the garden of the shanty house and the hand-to-hand drug deals.
THEY USED ELDERLY WOMEN AS COURIERS
In the footage, it was clearly revealed that gang members and elderly women acting as couriers made drug deliveries by rapidly coming into contact with incoming buyers.
7 DRUG PEDDLERS CAUGHT RED-HANDED IN POLICE RAID
After obtaining the red-handed footage, police teams took action and carried out a simultaneous raid on the address. During searches conducted in the shanty house and its garden, drugs packaged and ready for sale and precision scales were seized.
Seven drug peddlers, including elderly women couriers, were detained and taken to the police station. The interrogation of the suspects and the judicial investigation into the incident are ongoing.
