Ederson, who was referred to the PFDK on two separate charges, faces the possibility of receiving a heavy penalty ranging from 4 to 10 matches in total according to the disciplinary regulations.
The penalty that Fenerbahçe's goalkeeper Ederson, who received a red card in the Galatasaray derby, will face has become a matter of curiosity. The Brazilian goalkeeper was referred to the Professional Football Disciplinary Committee for his actions during the match.
REFERRED UNDER TWO SEPARATE ARTICLES
In a statement by the TFF, it was stated that Ederson was referred to the PFDK under articles 41 and 36 of the Football Disciplinary Instruction, with provisional measures starting from April 27, 2026, on the grounds of "insult" and "unsportsmanlike conduct."
POSSIBLE PENALTY RANGE CLARIFIED
According to the disciplinary instruction, a ban of 1 to 3 matches is foreseen under unsportsmanlike conduct (Article 36). Under insult (Article 41), penalties ranging from 3 to 7 matches can be applied. When these two referral articles are evaluated together, it is stated that Ederson may face a serious penalty.
CRITICAL MATCHES AWAIT FENERBAHÇE
The penalty Ederson receives will directly affect Fenerbahçe's remaining weeks in the league. The Yellow-Navy Blues will face Başakşehir, Konyaspor (away), and Eyüpspor in the upcoming weeks.
