Turkish folk music artist Elif Buse Doğan filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office last June, suspecting a fan who constantly followed her. The famous folk singer claimed that the fan watched her from the front row at concerts, contacted her close circle through social media, and even appeared in front of her abroad. HE DIDN'T GIVE UP EVEN ABROAD In her statement to the prosecutor's office, Doğan noted that a person named Murat T. attracted attention by watching her from the front row at concerts in cities like Ordu, Çankırı, and Istanbul, trying to reach her friends, and sending disturbing messages through social media. She also mentioned that she saw the same person in front of her when she went to Saudi Arabia. REQUEST FOR PRISON FOR 'STALKING' Finally, Doğan stated that Murat T. reached out to a store through a clothing item he purchased and asked the owner to contact him. She presented camera footage related to the incident as evidence. When she saw the suspect at a market near her home and asked why he was following her, he replied, "Coincidence." The suspect, Murat T., denied the allegations, claiming that he did not follow the folk singer. However, the prosecutor's office prepared an indictment with a request for up to 2 years in prison for the crime of "Stalking," based on witness statements and Murat T.'s social media posts. The case is still ongoing at the Istanbul Criminal Court of First Instance. Elif Buse Doğan stated that her fan scared her and requested that her safety be ensured.
