The death of Ferdi Tayfur, one of the important figures of Arabesque music, has saddened his fans and admirers. Meanwhile, the famous singer Emel Sayın shared a memory she had with Tayfur while on tour in Germany.

The legendary figure of Arabesque music, Ferdi Tayfur, passed away at the age of 79 due to liver and kidney failure. A memorial ceremony was held for Tayfur on Saturday at the Atatürk Cultural Center; following the ceremony, a funeral prayer was held for Tayfur at the Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque in Levent.

Tayfur's death plunged his loved ones and fans into mourning. Meanwhile, many artist friends continue to share their memories and feelings about Tayfur.

Most recently, singer Emel Sayın recounted a memory she had with Tayfur. "We had gone on a tour to Germany," Sayın said, "Türkan Şoray, I, Şener Şen, and Ferdi Tayfur. We would always laugh, joke, and chat together. Ferdi would hesitate to join us and would stand back. Then, we invited him to our conversations and made sure he joined us. We saw how kind and gentlemanly a person he was. The Turks in Germany had great admiration for Ferdi Tayfur," she expressed.
