The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, answered questions from Kübra Par on tv100. In response to a question about price increases, Bayraktar stated, "We do not have any plans for a price increase in electricity and natural gas this summer."

The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, stated in a television program he attended, "We do not have a plan to increase electricity and natural gas prices this summer."

Minister Alparslan Bayraktar answered questions from Kübra Par during a live broadcast on Tv100. Bayraktar also responded to Kübra Par's question, "Will there be an increase in natural gas and electricity prices?"

CLEAR ANSWER TO THE PRICE INCREASE QUESTION

In his response to the question, Bayraktar said that they do not have a plan for a price increase during the summer months. Bayraktar stated, "Currently, we do not have a plan to increase natural gas and electricity prices."

"A NEW ERA BEGINS IN TURKISH PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS EXPLORATION TODAY"

Key points from Alparslan Bayraktar's statements are as follows: "Today is a very important day for Turkish petroleum because it is a first. Turkey is entering a process of processing natural gas at sea for the first time in its strategy of exploring oil and natural gas in its seas, which it started a very short time ago. The one that will do this is our floating exploration platform, Osman Gazi. We can say that a new era is opening in Turkish petroleum and natural gas exploration. The date of May 29 also coincides with the anniversary of the conquest of Istanbul by Fatih Sultan Mehmet, marking the closing of one era and the opening of another."

Our initial studies regarding the floating production platform began 8 months ago in Çanakkale. The first phase has been completed, and today it will cross the strait and reach Filyos after 36 and a half hours. There, an important one-year process awaits us, and afterwards, it will start its duty in the Filyos gas field, where it will operate for 20 years.

"WE HAVE ESTABLISHED AN INDUSTRIAL FACILITY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEA"

After the discovery in the Sakarya gas field, we quickly planned our production when we established the production facility on land in Phase 1. Currently, 9.5 million cubic meters of gas are produced daily from here. This field is located 160 km offshore in the middle of the Black Sea. It is a place where the sea depth is over 2,000 meters. After extracting the gas from the seabed, we transport it through pipes to the land, where it undergoes some processing. In this new era, we will do this through the platform above the sea and transport it from the seabed to the land.

This floating production platform will be busy producing gas from the discovery we are currently making for 20 years. This platform will be anchored to the seabed with 16 steel cables and will continue to produce there. In a way, we have established an industrial facility in the middle of the sea.

When Osman Gazi becomes operational, it will carry out our Phase 2 production. Our current daily production of 9.5 million cubic meters in Phase 1 meets the natural gas needs of approximately 4 million households with our own gas. We will continue to meet this need for the next 20-25 years.

As Phase 2, Osman Gazi will add 10.5 cubic meters of production to this 9.5, and in Phase 3, with a new floating production platform coming in 2028, we aim to increase the production to 40 million cubic meters of natural gas for Turkey.

"TURKEY IS THE COUNTRY WITH THE MOST MODERN MARINE FLEET IN THE WORLD"

In 2016, Turkey entered a new phase in oil and natural gas exploration. Our goal there was this: Since 2004, there have always been explorations in the Black Sea during our administrations. We have conducted 6 deep-sea drilling operations. After 2016, we started doing this with our own ships and engineers, and this discovery came in August 2020. This fleet is the sixth largest in the world. Soon, this fleet may expand even further. Currently, Turkey is the country with the most modern marine fleet in the world.

We started with seismic exploration for our fleet. The first of these is our seismic research vessel named Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa. Our second vessel is Oruç Reis, which is currently operating in Somalia. Oruç Reis is a ship that has been completely designed and built in Turkey from its design to its construction. These ships conduct 2D and 3D seismic surveys. 2D seismic can be likened to taking an X-ray of the ground, while 3D seismic can be compared to a machine that performs an MRI.

Our drilling vessels are Fatih, Yavuz, and Kanuni, and lastly, Abdülhamit Han… These are the world's most modern drilling vessels capable of drilling up to 12,000 meters. Together with our drilling vessels and seismic support vessels, we have a wide and modern fleet.

"WE HAVE EXPLORATIONS SOUTH OF CYPRUS"

On this map, the white points in the south are the locations where we are conducting exploration in the Mediterranean. We also have explorations south of Cyprus. Our work continues in the continental shelf of the Republic of Turkey and in the licensed areas granted to us by the TRNC.

Additionally, our discovery wells in the Black Sea are also here. The recently announced Göktepe-3 discovery is also on this map. Here, we discovered a reserve of 75 billion cubic meters. We have reached a total of 710 billion cubic meters from 800 billion cubic meters. The Göktepe-3 reserve represents an economic size of 30 billion dollars, and we will include this in production. The locations marked in red are the new areas we have just started to excavate.

"WHILE THERE WAS ONLY NATURAL GAS IN 5 CITIES IN 2002, NOW THERE IS NATURAL GAS THROUGHOUT TURKEY"

Natural gas is a fuel that has a very important place in Turkey's economy. The first is the use of natural gas in households, the second is the intensive use of natural gas in industry and electricity generation. On this map, only 5 cities had natural gas in 2002. Now, however, we have natural gas in all 81 provinces of Turkey.

"BY 2028, WE WILL BE ABLE TO SUPPLY NATURAL GAS FOR 17 MILLION HOUSEHOLDS OURSELVES"

Currently, we are starting to meet the natural gas that is our most important need ourselves. Turkey currently produces 15% of its needs. This has happened in a very short time, like 2-3 years. By the time we reach 2028 and the planned 40 million cubic meters, we will be able to supply our natural gas to 17 million households out of the 21 million households that currently have natural gas.

"WE HAVE ACTIVITIES IN 3 MARINE FIELDS IN SOMALIA"

Turkey has activities in 3 marine fields in Somalia. Our Oruç Reis ship is currently there. Very soon, we will complete the first phase and aim to move to the next phase of drilling in these 3 marine blocks. Additionally, we have recently obtained licenses in the land areas of Somalia.

The agreement we made in Somalia is very important. It will also be a significant economic gain for the country. We are making a very large investment there. There are companies with licenses that have not operated for years, but once we obtained the license, we started working there. This is a very important activity for Turkey's economy as well as for changing the entire landscape of Somalia.

"WE HAVE REACHED A PRODUCTION OF 80 THOUSAND BARRELS FROM GABAR ALONE"

In 2016, Turkey Petroleum's daily oil production was 36 thousand barrels. Today, we have reached a production of 80 thousand barrels from Gabar alone. In 2021, we discovered that there was a very large reserve here.

With the understanding that 'we will leave no place unvisited', we continued our activities in Gabar and started production in this region, which is associated with terrorism. "
