A 26-year-old man in Bayrampaşa, Istanbul, met a woman he had met on social media at his home. The suspect, whose intention was theft, hit the woman on the head with the butt of his gun and stole her phone and wallet. Those moments were recorded second by second by security cameras.
A person in Bayrampaşa assaulted two women he met on social media with his gun and robbed them of their mobile phone and wallet. The suspect was quickly caught, while the moments when the thief hit the woman with the grip of the gun and fled were captured on camera.
The incidents occurred on Sunday, May 4, around 16:10, and on Sunday, May 11, around 16:30. In the first incident, a person went to the home of a woman he met on social media at her request. The individual, who went to the house in Yıldırım Neighborhood, hit the woman on the head with the grip of the gun and robbed her of her mobile phone and wallet.
TEAMS CAREFULLY EXAMINED THE FOOTAGE
The same suspect, a week after the first incident, went to the home of another woman he met on social media and committed the robbery. The thief, who stole the woman's mobile phone and wallet, quickly fled the scene. After the incidents, police teams initiated an investigation and carefully examined the security camera footage.
HE WAS OF AZERBAIJANI NATIONALITY
The suspect was identified as M.G. (27), of Azerbaijani nationality. Teams that started working to capture him located the suspect on Atışalanı Street and apprehended him with his gun on May 17. It was learned that the suspect was arrested after being brought to the courthouse following his procedures at the police station.
Meanwhile, the moments when the thief hit the woman with the grip of the gun and fled were also captured by the security camera.
